Shawn Ayala is the METCO Director for Scituate Public Schools (SPS) and is a proud METCO alum. He graduated from Bedford Public Schools along with three of his siblings. Prior to joining SPS, Shawn spent the last eight years at the Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology, most recently serving as Associate Dean of Students. Additional experience includes roles as an academic coach, counselor, and teacher. Shawn believes that all children can learn when provided with nurturing, positive environments, and his passion lies in supporting and empowering young people in their journey to reach their full potential. He is excited to give back to a program that transformed his life, creating a full circle moment for him.

Shawn earned his Master of Education in School Counseling from Cambridge College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Bryant University.
