Nyra

Hall

Nyra brings over 25 years of experience working in education. She earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Cambridge College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Suffolk University, and an Associate’s Degree in Childhood Development from Fisher College. Nyra is licensed and certified by the Department of Early Education and Care with Director I and Director II qualifications. Her diverse experience includes serving in a variety of different roles in both the private and public settings. Most recently, Nyra was the Executive Director of the Henry Buckner School. In her introductory letter to our families and students in the Melrose METCO program, Nyra shared, “I learned a lot over the past years and my hope is to bring my experiences to the role of the Melrose METCO Director in supporting children and families.”

In addition to her professional experience, Nyra is also an alum of the METCO program and attended the Needham Public Schools from first through 12th grade. Nyra’s son was also in the METCO program and graduated from Westwood High School. Her two daughters attend the Lincoln-Sudbury Public Schools through the METCO program. Nyra’s connections with the METCO program are generational. As an educator in the Weston school system, her mother chose to ride the METCO bus, serving as a bus monitor.

Nyra believes that "when we acknowledge, respect, and celebrate our diversity, we will grow stronger as a community!”
