Johnson
Caja Johnson currently serves as the K–12 METCO Program Director for Marblehead Public Schools, a role she has held since 2021. Prior to transitioning into her current position, Ms. Johnson worked extensively in special education, community engagement, and social justice advocacy. She previously served on the Executive Board of the METCO Directors Association as Student Activities Chairperson from 2023 to 2025.
Ms. Johnson is deeply committed to the mission and impact of METCO, Inc., an organization dedicated to expanding educational opportunities, increasing diversity, and reducing racial isolation through voluntary school integration. She strongly believes in METCO’s history, purpose, and continued success in supporting students and families across Massachusetts.
Ms. Johnson earned her Associate’s degree in Drug, Alcohol, and Rehabilitation from North Shore Community College in 2014, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Lesley University in 2016. She later completed her Master’s degree in Education, along with a Social Justice Certificate, from Endicott College in 2021. These academic experiences have shaped her passion for equity-driven, student-centered work.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Ms. Johnson enjoys coaching youth basketball, serving on various boards, and traveling. She considers herself fortunate to be working in her dream role alongside an exceptional team at METCO and Marblehead Public Schools, where she supports students, partners with families, and engages in meaningful diversity, equity, and inclusion work. Ms. Johnson is especially passionate about empowering young people, strengthening communities, and advancing educational and racial justice.
