Debra Jemison has spent her career serving children and families. After graduating from Delaware State University, Debra served in a managerial position at a local fast-food restaurant and transitioned to a corrections officer in the Delaware State prison system. She returned to Massachusetts in the nineties, where she started working with mothers and children in the state prison system. Debra was a foster parent for eighteen years to many children who were in the state's custody. In September 2010, Debra started working at Concord Public Schools as a METCO liaison for 12 years, and she is now METCO Director of Concord Carlisle High School, where she is beloved. She is a mother to her daughter Hollen and Nana to Nathaniel and Harlo.
