Gittens-Carle
Aleisa Gittens-Carle has been the METCO Director for the Cohasset Public Schools for the past 25 years. A clinical social worker by trade, she stumbled into education when a former friend recommended her for the Director’s position. Having been a METCO student herself in the Scituate METCO Program, she knew all too well the issues students of color face when they are in the minority in an all-white district. She seeks to educate, to support, and to encourage all she encounters to be their best authentic self. She and her husband Wayne have been married for 33 years and have four children and three grandchildren: Anita, Aubrey, and Aidan. Her “why” is because education is the key to success in so many ways, and therefore her desire is to impact the lives of young people so that they can fulfill their destiny to greatness no matter where they go.
