Renee Smith (she/her/hers) is an alum of the METCO program and attended the Newton Public Schools from 7th through 12th grade. Renee joined the MDA as the METCO Director for Braintree in 2021. Prior to Braintree Public Schools, Renee worked for Northeastern for 11 years as the Student Health Plan Manager. Her professional work has included family engagement, parent empowerment, and dedication to the success of students of all backgrounds. Renee is on a mission to help families by equipping adults with the necessary tools to lead from home. She earned her Master’s Degree in Leadership from Northeastern University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Northeastern University. She has a certificate from the University of South Florida, Muma College of Business, in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the workplace. When not at work, Renee spends time on adventures with her two boys. She is also a proud HBCU mom, with her eldest son attending Howard University.
