Renee Smith (she/her/hers) is a proud alumna of the METCO program, having attended Newton Public Schools from 7th through 12th grade. In 2021, she joined the MDA as the METCO Director for Braintree. Prior to her role in Braintree Public Schools, Renee served for 11 years at Northeastern University as the Student Health Plan Manager.

With a strong commitment to family engagement and student success, Renee’s professional journey has been rooted in empowering parents and supporting students of all backgrounds. Her mission is to equip adults with the tools and confidence to lead from home, fostering strong, supportive communities.

Renee holds both a Master’s Degree in Leadership and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Northeastern University. She also earned a certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace from the University of South Florida’s Muma College of Business.

Outside of work, Renee enjoys adventures with her two sons. She is a proud HBCU mom, celebrating her eldest son’s graduation from Howard University.
